Registered Home Care Manager

Loretta OBrien  RGN, DipHE, BSc(Hons) 

 

Loretta OBrien is the Managing Director and Registered Home Care Manager of A Caring Company Ltd.

  • She is a Registered Nurse and a qualified District Nurse with many years of experience in assessing and caring for people in their own homes. She trained at The Royal Free Hospital, London and graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 1997 with a First Class BsC(Hons) in Specialist Community Nursing Practice, also winning the University of Hertfordshire prize for exceptional professional and academic standards.
  • She worked as a District Nursing Sister in St Albans for many years and as a Project Manager reviewing District Nursing Services across West Hertfordshire. She was a member of the West Hertfordshire Clinical Effectiveness Group and a peer reviewer on the editorial panel of the British Journal of Nursing, and has had work published in a prestigious Nursing Journal.
  • She also holds, a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, a Diploma in Palliative Care, an English National Board Certificate in Elderly Care and several other qualifications in nursing and teaching and assessing staff in the community. 
  • In addition to this, she is a qualified trainer in moving and handling, safeguarding and social care in the community enabling her to personally train, supervise and support all our Home Care Support workers in order that they can carry out your care to the highest standard. She oversees all assessments and care packages to ensure care is being delivered appropriately, safely and in a person centred way.

Katy Gregory, Level 5 Diploma           

in Leadership for Health and Social Care

 

  • Katy Gregory has worked for A Caring Company Ltd since August 2011, she holds qualifications in the Health and Social Care Diploma Levels 2 and 3 and the Diploma in Leadership and Management in Social Care Level 5. 
  • Katy has extensive knowledge of all aspects of home care provision and will assess your needs, formulate your care plan to incorporate your personal wishes and coordinate your care.  She will also reassess your needs on a regular basis or if there are any changes in your condition in order to ensure your care is right for you.  Katy works closely with other service providers such as Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and District Nurses to ensure your care is well coordinated.  
  • Katy provides extensive and excellent support to all our Home Care Support Workers by carrying out supervision in practice and holding regular meetings with them.  She assists in all aspects of ensuring our staff feel confident and competent to carry out their caring role. She also coordinates staff rosters and care package placement for the people we care for.
  • Katy also provides home care as required and her "hands on" ensures her knowledge is relevant and up to date.  This ensures the people we care for and our staff are appropriately supported and that high quality care is delivered at all times. 
  • Katy supports the Senior Support workers when they are "On Call" also and is on hand for any advice in the event of a challenging situation.

 

 

Emma Denyer

Administrator and

Senior Home Care Support Worker 

 

  • Emma has worked for A Caring Company since February 2013.  She holds the Health and Social Care Diploma Level 2 and Level 3.  Emma works in the Office Monday to Friday 0900 to 1700 to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of care provision.  She assists with the coordination of care visits, ensures all assessment, reassessment and care planning documentation is drawn up and in place,  She assists with the recruitment process and ensuring all staff files are kept up to date. 
  • In addition to her excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills, she is a Senior Home Care Support Worker and provides home care outside office hours or as required during office hours.  She is "On Call" on a rostered basis outside office hours in order to support and supervise our staff and deal with any concerns relating to the people we care for. She has extensive knowledge of the people we care for which puts her in an ideal position for this role.
