If you are eligible for Social Service funding for your home care package, you can now receive this through a direct payment to you. This will give you more flexibility in arranging your home care.

Some people have their care funded through the Health Service, if they have particular health needs. Some people receive Social Service funding for their care and some people pay privately for their care.

You are entitled to a Financial Assessment through the Social Service Department to establish if you are eligible for Social Service funding for all or part of your home care package. We will assist in referring you to the Social Service Department for this if you so wish.

funding you can receive this in the form of a Direct Payment whereby your funding gets paid directly into your bank account so that you can use that money to fund the care that is right for you.

If you already have a home care package that is funded by Social Services, in most cases you can change to Direct Payments if you would like to arrange your own care.
